Clear and glowing skin is probably on every woman's summer wish list. However, with the sun shining brightly upon us, we are bound to experience some skin problems. The sweltering heat, pollution, humidity, and other factors rob the skin of its natural radiance and, in some cases, welcome infections.

If you don't address these common summer skin concerns in your skincare routine, excess sun exposure can lead to sweat-induced clogged pores, sunburns, and discoloration.

The go-to skincare routine will work for you year-round, but there are a few tweaks you can make to help minimize the seasonal side effects of summer on your skin. We have some easy-peasy tips for you on how to keep your skin looking fresh and glowing throughout the summertime — and beyond.

Never forget your SPF

Sunscreen is the most essential, don't-leave-the-house-without-it product. According to skincare experts, all exposed skin should be protected with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Make sure you apply it to your hands, feet, ears, and lips.

If you’re new to the sunscreen game, start by using it once in the morning. And gradually, you can start reapplying it every couple of hours, because that will make all the difference. So, bring extra sunscreen if you plan on spending long summer days outdoors.

Use a good toner

A good toner can work wonders when it comes to closing open pores. The T-zone of the face has the greatest number of sebaceous glands.

Use an aloe vera or cucumber-based toner to thwart sweat and oil from clogging these pores because they are lighter. Make it a part of your daily skincare routine.

Moisturize your skin well

Summertime necessitates the use of a moisturizer to hydrate your skin. Depending on your skin type, you can select a non-greasy formula.

However, look for antioxidants such as vitamins A and C. It's even better if it has SPF.

After you bathe, apply a moisturizer as soon as possible.

Opt for minimal make-Up

opt for minimal

In the summer, less is more, whether it's in terms of clothing or make-up. Natural looks work best under the blazing summer sun.

If you plan on using foundation, apply face powder with SPF to avoid patchy skin. Always use a gloss or a lip balm to protect your lips and to keep them looking fresh. Eye makeup should be avoided at all costs.

Make water your greatest ally

make water

Drink a minimum of eight glasses of water like your skin health depends on it (and it does). Carry a water bottle with you, and remember to drink at least once every 30 minutes.

Water not only makes you feel good, but it also keeps you hydrated and flushes out toxins. The key to plump, healthy-looking, younger skin is hydration -- both inside and out.

Don’t miss out on exfoliation

Summer skin is more oily due to increased heat. The excess oil, dirt, grime, and sweat can clog your pores, leading to breakouts.

Exfoliation is a must all year round, but summers call for a gradual increase in the number of times we exfoliate per week. Dermatologists recommend exfoliating at least twice a week for brighter and more vibrant skin.

Excessive sun exposure, skinny dipping to stay cool, and humidity can harm your skin in summer. But the good news is that by properly caring for your skin, you can restore its natural balance, luster, and health.

A regular summer skincare routine, healthy diet, and simple effective natural remedies, and everyone will ask you, “Hey beautiful! What’s the secret to your flawless skin?”
