Best O.P.I Nail Polish: Top 10 Shades & Review

The first memory I have of having my nails painted was when I was merely 3 years old. I remember my grandmother had painted my nails a very pastel pink shade, and I guess you could say that's where my nail journey started. I didn't start focusing on nail polish brands until I was much older and had to start doing my nails by myself. Whenever I think of getting a nail paint, all different colours and shades and brands cross my mind, but ever since I used O.P.I. , of the first brands that I remember picking up from a store was OPI, it stays on my the top of my mind. One .

The three main things that I look for in nail polish are

• The nail paint is long-lasting and doesn't chip off quickly.

• The brand should have a wide colour range; so you can select from a plethora of shades.

• The brush size is important so that the nail polish goes on smoothly and is full coverage.

• Value for money. if it chips off quick and is expensive, then it's a big no-no

OPI is one of the oldest nail polish brands out there. There are a lot of mixed opinions on this particular brand in various places and I have my own opinions as well. To make things easier, I've listed the pros and cons of OPI nail polishes.

Pros

• OPI has a wide shade range, which is always helpful for me when picking my nail polish as there's always something to satisfy my needs.

• It's quite long-lasting and doesn't chip off easily  which is always a good sign because let's be honest who has the time to reapply nail polish every day or every two days?

• The applicator is of a good thickness and it helps the coat to go on smoothly without it being streaky.

• They have topcoats for different finishes such as matte, glossy, and glitter.

Cons

• It's a little bit on the expensive side compared to your regular Lakme and other brands.

• It's not easily available in all drugstores and beauty shops. However, there are websites like Nykaa, where you can easily get OPI nail polishes.

• The matte topcoat has a little thick consistency which makes the coat go on very thickly.

Over the years of using OPI, I have developed a soft corner for a few shades. If you're someone who likes to be more on the lighter side of things, then the shades you should give a shot to are:

 Your go-to bright red for all the nights you want your nails to shine bright.

 Big Apple Red

Described as a ,punchy red, this is a go-to for those who are not into too much of red, but would definitely like to hop on the bandwagon.

Como Se Llama

 Inspired by the fan favourite cartoon The Emperor's New School, this shade is described to be a, boastful burgundy shade, and like the name, you can definitely boast around with it.

 If deep and dark is your thing, then don't miss out on. 

Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous 

 It's a modern, steel colour and the go-to grey for all grey nailed lovers out there.

Black Cherry Chutney

 One word, BLACK. That's all I'm going to say.
