Have you ever been guilty of blindly trusting products with Herbal or Ayurveda tag without digging deeper details We believe, you as a consumer are more conscious and aware of the products you consume or apply. You prefer nature-based materials considering the obvious reasons for healthy skin and chemical-free cosmetics. But, it is saddening to know that many brands are misguiding you and other women like you in the guise of organic, herbal, natural, etc with their attractive green packaging.

But, have you ever thought of what effect the product you use has on your skin? What all goes into the making of the product? Are the promises and labels on the product packaging true? All these questions are the genesis of the clean beauty moment. There is no official definition of Clean Beauty and so brands on their own come up with their versions of Clean Beauty. It is high time we settle the argument with factual answers.

Clean Beauty is simple at the core, there is no long list of criteria that needs to be satisfied. It does not mean that 100% natural ingredients or zero chemicals have to be used. It can have man-made materials as long as they are non-toxic. Rather than chasing buzzwords like natural and organic, research about the ingredients being used and eliminate the toxins you use around your day. Beauty and beauty products go hand in hand.

Be it red ochre, a natural pigment used by ancient Egyptian women as lipstick or the body illuminators being used by beauty connoisseurs today. Beauty products since the very beginning have allured women. The desire of a woman to be beautiful and attractive has led to the immense growth of numerous beauty and cosmetic brands worldwide. The love of a woman with her precious cosmetic kit is ever-growing. So, it is important to know what impact makeup has and can have in the long run.

The movement is more about making ourselves more aware in true terms and not just superficial knowledge. As consumers, the responsibility is on you to pay attention to what's there in your cosmetics. You do not need to worry as it is not a tedious task. You just need to start fresh and get rid of the misconceptions regarding Clean Beauty. Clean Beauty in simple words can be termed as using products without risking your own health. The ingredients label must contain only safe, non-toxic ingredients. At the Good Face Project, each and every cosmetic ingredient is analyzed and given grades from A to F based purely on safety and toxicity.

If a product gets an A, B, or C safety grade, we consider it clean beauty. Anything lower is considered toxic and not clean. Another criterion to judge a brand is by knowing how transparent the labels on the products are.Brands, many a time, instead of listing the exact ingredient just name the fragrance or preservatives. But, if they put effort to list all the ingredients, that means they are transparent and you may consider it. Be sensitive towards your skin and be a conscious and well-read individual.

So, if you know the products you are going to use in and out and do not fall for those faking Clean Beauty products, you are already part of Clean Beauty Movement. Tell us how you feel about the subject and how you have been practising it in the clean beauty movement.
