When I was a little girl I asked my mother, what will I be Will I be pretty, will I be rich.......

Contrary to this, looking pretty is not what a girl wants today. What she truly wants is to make big in the world, to bring her dreams to reality, and become the best version of herself. Naomi from Dehradun, a young entrepreneur in her early twenties proves us quite right. (But as far as riches are concerned, she is doing a wonderful job for herself.) A paradigm for aspiring entrepreneurs, Naomi has set the benchmark high for those who want to work on similar lines. She owns an e-commerce portal for fashion jewelry and accessories and has been running it magnificently for 5 months now. Recently she has also launched her website namely, www.wildchildshoppe.com . After completing her schooling in Dehradun, she headed to Narsee Moonji College, Mumbai to complete her graduate studies in the field of commerce. With the zeal to follow her dream and her love for jewelry, she embarked on the journey to follow her inner calling.

We had a little chit-chat with her and this is what she had to say?

TheWOOMag: Tell our readers something about you. Naomi: Well, I am Naomi and I am an aspiring entrepreneur. I am currently building Jewels By Naomi with a clear singular mission of creating the ultimate online destination for irresistible fashion jewelry and accessories, especially handpicked and curated to match contemporary trends and styles, at guilt-free prices, delivered straight to the doorstep of all independent, chic and effortless women who understand and appreciate fashion as an expression, just like we do!

TheWOOMag: Why you preferred entrepreneurship to a job? Naomi: I just decided to follow my intuition. TheWOOMag: How and when did you think of this venture? Naomi: Well, as they say, all you need is a little jewelry. Personally, jewelry always excited me. I remember gleaming over these shiny little (dangerous *wink*) things as a child, whenever I was in a jewelry store, and nothing has changed since. TheWOOMag: Have you always dreamt of being an entrepreneur? Naomi: Yes. Always. TheWOOMag: What inspired you to choose this line/business? Naomi: I am of the opinion that jewelry and the impact it makes on our appearance is highly underrated. Jewelry is much more than just being beautiful. TheWOOMag: How has it been so far in terms of achievement Turnover and customer base? Naomi: Oh, as a start-up I?d say people have been welcoming, motivating, and forgiving. TheWOOMag: What are the cities you are targeting? Naomi: We deliver all over India. TheWOOMag: At any point did you feel, that being a woman is a challenge in making your venture successful? Naomi: I think being a woman is a superpower, waiting to be cultivated.

TheWOOMag: Did your family and friends support you? Naomi: My family and friends are my pillars.

TheWOOMag: With several new e-commerce portals coming up, do you face a lot of competition? How do you counter that? Naomi: I think every portal has something unique to offer so the competition is healthy.

TheWOOMag: What do you think are the 3 most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur? Naomi: I have my 3Ds Discipline, Drive, and Determination.

TheWOOMag: What is your idea of women empowerment? Do you think a woman should be economically independent to be socially empowered? Naomi: I think every woman should do whatever they can in their maximum capacity to realize their complete potential. That being said, as a woman I believe it is extremely important for all women to become financially independent.

TheWOOMag: What do you think of TheWooMag? Naomi: I think of TheWooMag as a great platform for women to interact, aspire and motivate each other to empower themselves, because as Malala says,? We cannot all succeed if half of us are held back.?

TheWOOMag: You are a WOO woman because? Naomi: Because I dare to dream and I have the courage to follow my heart and intuition.
