Kangana Ranaut: From the Bollywood Queen to The Queen of Controversy
Kangana undoubtedly is fierce and firm with her solid path-breaking performances onscreen but at the same time, she is as reckless and unstoppable with her comments on people and events during her public appearances or social media platforms. She is without any second thought the Bollywood queen without any filter. While the courageous and strong-headed attributes of the actress receive appreciation and applaud, it has also been the cause of getting her involved in some of the biggest and ugliest controversies of Bollywood. She has constantly been in news for her very direct, bold and fearless comments. Let us run through some of Kangana's Bollywood controversies that landed her in trouble and are still talked about:
Her break-up with Raaz co-star Adhyayan Suman
Kangana and Adhyayan were seen together in the movie Raaz: The Mystery Continues in the year 2009. Their break-up came into limelight because of the very bizarre allegations that were put on the actress by the actor's family. They accused her of performing black magic on him. Suman further said, I was emotionally badgered because of my relationship. Kangana only knows how to use, abuse and throw. I have remained silent on her abusive nature for so many years, but she is crossing all limits now. Since I haven't been taking her calls, her aides have been calling my mother and harassing her.
Hrithik Roshan allegations
The ugly fight of Kangana with Hrithik gained a lot of attention and became a subject of discussion in the media, public and the film industry. The matter involved various allegations and a legal battle too. The duo was rumoured to be dating while shooting for "Krrish 3" (2013). Kangana claimed their relationship openly while Hrithik repeatedly denied any such connections with her. The story took a drastically bad turn when both filed cases against each other. A few days back Kangana's sister Rangoli again tried to bash Hrithik on social media, posting their picture together.
Koffee with Karan (The Nepotism bash)
A while back, the nepotism debate was on fire, every celebrity chat show had this topic coming up. Kangana fuelled the debate on an appearance on the Karan Johar's talk show Koffee with Karan, where she slammed the host by declaring him the flag-bearer of nepotism and she also called him the movie mafia. Her statement in the episode was, In my biopic, if ever it's made, you'll play that stereotypical Bollywood biggie, who is like you know very snooty and completely intolerant towards outsiders, flag bearer of nepotism, the movie mafia. This very blunt comment left everyone speechless and a series of controversies then followed.
The journalist fight
Kangana had an argument with a journalist during the trailer launch of her film "Judgementall Hai Kya". She accused a reporter for running a smear campaign against her and giving negative reviews to her film "Manikarnika". Her exact statement was, "Tum mere baare mei kitni gandi gandi baatein likhte ho. Jingoistic bolte ho. Itni gandi soch laate kahan se ho? You are bashing my film Manikarnika. Have I made a mistake by making a film? You are calling me a jingoistic person for making a film on nationalism." After this incident took place, The Entertainment Journalists' Guild of India then banned Kangana, to which she responded by sharing a video where she accused the journalists of being rotten and cheap freeloaders. She also challenged the media to ban her.
Manikarnika: Sonu Sood Controversy
There were rumours about the actor Sonu Sood walking out of the sets of Kangana's film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi post his disagreement with the actress. Kangana accused him of not wanting to work under a woman director and said, The producers showed him the film and writers narrated the patchwork to him. He refused to meet me. He vehemently denied to work under a woman director, which is kind of amusing because Sonu is a dear friend. To which Sonu Sood commented, "Kangana is a dear friend and she will always remain one but this constant playing the woman card, the victim card and making this entire issue about male chauvinism is ridiculous.
